Christmas Memories

This year I am planning to create more scrapbook pages than in the previous on.  So today I am starting off my resolution early with this scrapbook page I created for Crafter's Companion.

The gorgeous bear holding the poinsettia flower is from the Popcorn the Bear With Love stamp set.  You can tell from the 12 x 12 scrapbook page how large this stamp is.  I used Double Sided Adhesive Foam Squares so that he would "pop" off the page.  Here's a close up of Popcorn before I added him to my layout.

I used Spectrum Noir alcohol markers to color him (TN2, TN3, TN4, TN5, DG2, DG4, CR7, CR9, CR11, DR2, DR3, DR5).  I also added some Diamond Stickles Glitter Glue to the poinsettia.

Hope you are enjoying lots of family time during this busy time of year.   Thanks for stopping by :)

You're the Cat's Miaow

Crafter's Companion's newest  S.w.a.l.k. collection, Pawfect Pals is purr-fect for everyday cards.  I created this one using the SWALK Pawfect Pals Cats Miaow.

To color my card, I first stamped my image on Ultra Smooth Premium White Cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  Next I used my Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers (GG1, GG2, GT2, GT3, IG6, IG8, IG10, BG1, BG3, FS2, FS3) which beautifully blend the shades of colors.

To finish my card, I added two mats, some black lace and a couple of embellishments in the corner of my card.  Quick and easy!

These stamps also work wonderfully for the Crafter's Companion Monthly Challenge blog, where the challenge for December is Winter Friends.

Have a great day!

Crafter's Companion Winter Friends challenge

Crafter's Companion Monthly Challenge blog's December crafting challenge is Winter friends.  This is the perfect month to create a sweet card or gift for your bff.  And if you enter your project over at the
Crafter's Companion Monthly Challenge blog, you could win a gift certificate to the their fabulous store. Make sure you use a product from Crafter's Companion to be eligible to win.

For my project this month, I used the gorgeous Humphrey Girl Talk stamp set.  This stamp just screams, "best friends" to me.  I stamped the image onto both white card stock and printed paper with Tuxedo Black Memento Stamp Pad.  I fussy cut the two girls dressed and glued them down with Double Sided Adhesive Foam Squares to create a three-dimensional effect.  The rest of the image was colored with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers (IG2, IG4, EB1, EB2, DG2, DG4).  I also used a little Diamond Stickles Glitter Glue on the heart dress and center of the flower.

For more information about this month's challenge, pop over to Crafter's Companion Monthly Challenge blog where you will find a ton of inspiration from our design team.

Happy stamping!

Fairy Cute Door hanger

Like most girls, my daughter adores fairies.  So I decided to create this fun and girly door hanger for her bedroom.

I started my project by painting a plain brown door hanger with purple acrylic paint.  It dried so quickly, I decided to give it a second coat of paint before starting the rest of the project.

The darling little fairy riding on a tricycle is from Sheena Douglass' A Little Bit Festive Fairy Power stamp set.  I stamped my image out with Memento Pad Tuxedo Black onto Premium White Cardstock, and colored it with the following Spectrum Noir alcohol markers Dress: TB2, TB3, TB4, TB5; skin: EB1, EB2; Tricycle: LV1, LV2; hair: IG6, IG8, IG10, wings and wand: GB5, CT2, CT4; ground: GB4, GB10.

Using a low temperature hot glue gun, I slowly glued down a frilly purple ribbon around the edges of the door hanger.

To add a little more sparkle, I added a giant rhinestone to the top of the door hanger.  I also applied Lavender Stickles Glitter Glue to the tricycle and Diamond Stickles Glitter Glue to the girl's wings.

I hope my easy-to-make door hanger inspires you to create one.  They make fabulous holiday gifts.

Vintage Mini House

Hey all,

I was browsing the internet a couple of days ago and saw a new "House Rules" challenge at over Simon Says Stamp and Show.  The darling three-dimensional houses the DT made inspired me to put together and alter a Doodlebug Chipboard house out that I've had in my stash for a few years.   Over the last couple of days I took a break from Christmas cards and made this Vintage mini house.

I used the DCWV World Traveler and Rustic stacks for the outside of the house, while the vintage ladies and butterfly sticker are from Graphic 45's A Ladies' Diary collection.  The flowers are from Petaloo and the lace trim is from Webster's.  I outlined the door and house trim with Gold Stickles.  Lara was very interested in who I was making the house for.  She had a big smile when I gave it to her when I finished it.  (I finished it during her nap and she's got the bed head look going on.)

I'm entering my (err, Lara's) mini house in the Simon Says Stamp and Show (House Rules) and Tuesday Alchemy (Anything but a card).
