Oh my gosh...I won!!!

The winner for SPCC #35 is...Denise!

Congratulations Denise!
This is a wonderful layout!  We love how she used her Facebook statuses and printed them to keep up with what her kids say and do!  So creative!  Great job!
Denise has won a bunch of goodies from Samantha including some chipboard shapes, embellies, ribbon, two Dew Drop ink pads, and a 4 in 1 handmade stamp.

I cannot even tell you how jazzed I am at winning this online challenge.  It's my very first win.  And there's prizes!  Yay!!!!  I checked first thing this morning and screamed when I saw my name.  My kids ran over from the breakfast table to check it out and cheered right along side me.  'Course Lara had no idea why she was cheering except maybe that her picture was on the computer screen :)  It was a great way to start a day, I'll tell ya.

My Mom in Italy

I love this picture of my mom.  I took it when we went to Italy together for a week.  It was in 1999 and we were so in awe of the beautiful country.  We went to Rome for a few days and then to Florence where we visited my sister who was studying there.  We hauled a heavy suitcase full of American food for her to eat.  It was such a relief to deliver it.

Memories

Here is another layout I made at a quick quotes convention.  I actually wasn't paying attention and put down the wrong side of the scalloped edge on the right.  I turned it over before the glue dried but the dried glue looked awful.  So I added the flowers to it and covered up the big mess.  Since I often make mistakes, I've learned the best way to fix one is to just cover it up with something you have on hand!

Grow

I had fun with this one.  I chalked the flower flourishes using a versamark ink pad and stamped the flowers using regular stamp pads.  Then I printed out some of my facebook statuses.  I use facebook as sort of a notebook to help me remember all the hilarious things my kids are doing.

Party

Going through my brads I noticed I had a lot of snowflakes.  So I decided to do another layout incorporating them.  I think these might be my favorite colors to scrapbook with.

Personalized album

I've always used post bound albums.  The problem with those are they only hold so much.  I have bought expanders for the albums and have used many different manufacturers.  The problem (for me) is that I end up using 4-7 albums a year.  So I finally decided to try the American Crafts D-ring album.  It can be customized and holds a ton of pages.  Even better, you can rearrange the pages so much easier than the post bound albums.

I bought the cheaper ones that are bound in a color but the rest of it is chipboard color that needs to be decorated.  This was fun because I got to choose the color and design of the album.  Here's what I came up with.  It was very easy.  I used Beacon's 3-in-1 glue.  I initially tried modge podge but the paper bubbled up.

Christmas pages

Every year during the spring or summer, when I've got the time, I make a few Christmas pages for the next Christmas.  Like every other woman out there, I just get so far behind on my projects and pages.  By making a few ahead of time, I don't have to dread the stack of December pictures.
