Spring is in the Air

Good morning, friends.  Today I have a beautiful sketch from Sketches in Thyme to share with you.

I used the sketch to scrap a picture of my lovely daughter.  I just love her smile in this picture.  This was taken right after she got her braces on.  She was so happy to get them on.  I think it made her feel like a big kid.

Make sure to try the Sketches In Thyme sketch challenges this month.  You could win a Just Imagine Crafts Kreaxions Circle Cutter and surprise bonus gift.

Have a great day!

Hello Friends

This rainbow of a scrapbook page was inspired by Scrapbook & Cards Magazine.  I absolutely love the colors and it was a great way to use up leftover washi tape and ribbon.  I also added a few flowers and bling to it.

I love the memory behind the picture.  The day was the first day of school, last September.  My friends and I met for coffee immediately after dropping off our kids to their various schools.  I am so glad I have this picture to scrapbook, as I will mostly likely not be able to attend this year, due to working.  But there are always other events and get togethers, so it's all good.  It's ironic that I finally scrapped the picture and posted it with only three days left in the school year.

Remember This

Hello crafters,

Today I have a quick and easy layout I created of my husband and daughter.  The pictures are of when my husband came back from a business trip.  Even though he had only been gone a few days, you can see how happy our daughter was to see him.  It was such a sweet moment.

Because the paper I used for the page was very busy, I kept my embellishments at a minimum and let the photos do the talking.  I layered a few balloons in the left corner using foam adhesive tape.  I also tuck two small doilies behind the photos.

Thanks for stopping by today.

So Loved

Good morning, crafters.  Today I have a card kit to share with you.  It's called 'So Loved Valentine Card Kit' by Photoplay.

This was such a fun and easy kit to put together, and there were even some leftover paper and stickers  once it was done.  These would be great for valentines day, but I plan to use them throughout the year.

Hope you are having a great day.

Hello Love

Good morning, scrapbookers!  It's time for another fabulous sketch challenge at Sketches in Thyme.  I used this week's sketch to scrap a couple of pictures of my darling husband.

I love how the red washi tape is transparent and shows the black hearts of the background paper.  The picture of him on a balcony was at the Beverly Hilton, a gorgeous and famous hotel in Beverly Hills.  We were lucky enough to stay there one night, while my dad watched the kids.

Here is the sketch for this challenge created by Brenda Ragsdale.  I just loved it.

If you enter this layout challenge, you can win a $30 gift card to Creative Embellishments. Link up your projects here.

Have a fabulous day!

School Fun

I can't believe another year of school is coming to a close.  I think it's bittersweet, but the kids are so excited for summer to start; we always have so much fun.  Today's layout is of my daughter's first day of school last September.

My daughter (on the left) was so excited to have one of her bffs in her class.  What a smile!

Thanks for stopping by today.  Enjoy your day!

Sparkle and Shine

Happy Monday, crafting friends!  Today I am sharing a couple of cards that I created for the Sparkle and Shine class going on at Online Card Classes.  This class is all about glitter, sparkle, and shine.  So needless to say, my house is covered in glitter (much to the dismay of my teenage son).

These first two birthday cards were created with heat embossing.  The flame of the candles and words were embossed with a gold glitter embossing powder.  The body of the candles were heat embossed five times with regular embossing powder.  This created a smooth, thick, enamel feel to them.

The sparkle created on my next card was created with Bo Bonny Glimmer Paste and a stencil.  The Glimmer Paste is great because it dries very, very quickly and is nice and thick.

Hope these cards inspired you to create a little sparkle and shine in your projects.

Have a lovely day!

Thinking of You card set

Good morning, crafters.  Today I have a set of thinking of you cards to share with you.  These cards are another take on the cards I created last month.  I liked how they turned out so much that I thought I'd make a few more with different papers and sentiment.  You can see the original set here.

Thinking of you cards are great for encouragement cards, birthday cards, everyday cards, or even Mother's Day cards.  And if you are going to make one, you might as well make three. Right?

Have a great day!

It's almost time for National Scrapbook Day!!  Tomorrow's the big day and I'm hoping to get some crafting time in.  There are always lots of fun challenges and websites to visit and I can't wait to participant in some.  In the meantime, here is a very bright layout I created at a Scrap Society Crop.  The theme was electric neon daisy, so it was a very colorful and fun crop.

The best part of the crop was our group (Design Divas) wearing tie dye shirts with light up tutus and flower headbands.  How often can you do that and blend into a crowd?  LOL.  Good times.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a wonderful weekend and Happy National Scrapbook Day!

Get Well Soon

Good morning, crafters.  Today I am sharing some cards for people who are feeling poorly.  When people aren't feeling great, a handmade card can really bring a smile to their face.

For the sentiment on my card, I tore a small strip of vellum, stamped "Get well soon" on it with Staz-On Ink.  This works so well with stamping on glossy surfaces.  Once the ink dried (just take a few seconds) I wrapped the vellum strip around the pretty, floral, background paper and glued it to the back.  Next, I stamped some floral stamps onto small white squares and matted them with turquoise paper. I glued the squares across the top of the cards, as you can see in the picture above. Lastly, I glued down the entire background with stamped images attached to the turquoise card base.

And if you are going to make one card, you might as well make a few more of the same card.  You can always alter the sentiment and type of images for each card, too.

Have a great day!  Thanks for stopping by!
